Critical Issue Fund grantee organization 412 Food Rescue has released its first impact report, detailing the results of its efforts in reducing food waste. Based in Pittsburgh, PA, the organization’s work centers around its innovative app, which connects over 4,000 community volunteers to food recovery opportunities.
As the report highlights, the median time it takes for a rescue opportunity to be accepted through the app is just six minutes. Volunteers collect excess food from donor sites, such as supermarkets, and deliver it to non-profit recipient organizations.
