On January 28, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff visited Critical Issue Fund grantee organization Dreaming Out Loud in an effort to highlight the issue of food insecurity. This marked Emhoff’s first official public outing in his new role. DOL’s founder and executive director, Christopher Bradshaw, welcomed Emhoff and gave him a tour of The Farm at Kelly Miller Middle School in Washington, DC. Click here to watch a video.
Bradshaw was also honored by Georgetown University with the John Thompson, Jr. Legacy of a Dream Award on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 18, 2021). The award is presented each year to an individual or organization whose contributions to community service or social justice reflect the values and ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The ceremony was streamed on Georgetown’s Facebook page and can be viewed here.
