Norris Square Neighborhood Project (NSNP) seeks to unite and inspire youth and families through the strengths of community, such as shared cultural wisdom, creative energies, and environmental spaces and experiences. It offers environmental, food, farming, arts and cultural education programs for youth and residents. Annually, NSNP serves about 75 high school-aged young people in its year-round gardening and arts programs. It serves the diverse West Kensington community by creating open green spaces and community gardens where local residents can enjoy nature and access neighborhood-grown fruits and vegetables at the seasonal weekly farm stand. A strong network of local partners enhance youth programs, support sustainable gardens, and help strengthen neighborhood networks. Nearly all of the community gardening plots located at Las Parcelas, which are maintained by women of the neighborhood organization, Grupo Motivos, are under production by local residents.
