Boston Area Gleaners rescues surplus farm crops for people in need. By working closely with local farms and volunteers, it bridges a gap in the food system and connects hunger-relief programs and community businesses in Massachusetts to receive farm-fresh produce that would otherwise be ploughed under. The organization will launch the Surplus Commodity Crop Program designed to develop innovative market alternatives for surplus crops management and farmer incentives while addressing hunger relief in the region.
